GALA WATER

Wilsons of Bannockburn first mention a Gala Water (Gallowater) tartan in 1793, but details of the sett are not recorded until 1800.  In their 1819 Pattern Book, they record an Old and a New Gala Water tartan -- the one pictured is the New Gala Water.
