LADY'S SKIRTS
We offer
many different styles of skirts for ladies wear, from the fun to the formal.
Our standard skirts below are made from a light kilt weight (10 oz per yard) and
typically contain about 3 yards of pleated material. They are made to
measure, and not "off the rack."
Because each skirt is made to measure, and many options are available as far as tartan, color scheme, and size, we are not able to offer our skirts via a "one-click" Pay Pal shopping cart system. To order your skirt, it is best to phone us at (828)524-7472 between the hours of 10am and 5pm Monday through Saturday, or email us at info@district-tartans.com for more information.
To place your order, we will need the following information from you:
Your desired tartan -- this is most important!
Your waist measurement, taken at your natural waist (just above your naval), snug
Your hip measurement, taken at the widest part of your seat, loose. Hips over 44" will be subject to a size surcharge.
The desired length of your skirt. This is entirely a personal choice. We can have your skirt made as long or as short as you desire, though some styles do have restrictions, and the length may affect the pricing. See the description of your individual skirt style.
Double take all measurements. We will have your skirt made to the measurements you provide. We cannot be responsible if the measurements you give us are not correct.
Give us your height and weight. This helps in double-checking your measurements.
Do you have a deadline? Skirts normally take 6 to 8 weeks to have made and delivered. Sometimes this can be longer if the cloth is out of stock, but you will be notified.
Your shipment and payment information. On all custom made goods, a 50% deposit is required at the time you place the order. The remaining 50% is due when the skirt is ready to ship. You may also choose to pre-pay up front.
Of course, if you have any other questions, you are welcome to contact us. The staff of the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop is happy to answer any questions.
